Scope of servo motor repair
Feedback verification
Properly functioning feedback is the foundation of a precision-operated servo drive. Regardless of the type, feedback requires “phasing” relative to the motor's BEMF voltages. We test and set the position of:
- resolvers,
- incremental encoders with commutation signals,
- encoders with EnDat, Hiperface, Hiperface DSL, SSI, DriveCLiQ interfaces,
- encoders from companies: Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Kawasaki and many others.
Stator winding and rotor magnetism test
The stator winding test includes:
- measurement of winding and insulation resistance,
- winding short-circuit test,
- checking the electrical connections.
The rotor magnetism test involves measuring the magnetic field strength and magnetic pole symmetry of the rotor.
Verify servo motor mechanics
Scope:
- measuring the fit of bearings in flanges,
- motor shaft inspection, checking of sealing surfaces,
- rotor balance check (dynamic).
Repair and post-repair test
After the repair of the servo motor is completed, we perform a series of tests to confirm the effectiveness of the repair and eliminate any errors.
If, as a result of the repair, the servo motor has regained its appearance and factory parameters, we can consider the repair successful.
